The measuring of the human being
The opening image shows the solo dancer in uniform-like costume and athletic shoes on a stage defined by projected networks of light. One is reminded of the Vitruvian Man, but in an awkward way: When Leonardo drew his man in a square and circle, he was still making man the measure of all things, after all. (…) Strange that “you are here” is so enthralling. Yes, it is rich in content and has “something to say“. However, the great liberation from representation does not take place. But the “mapped” body impressively asserts itself against its instrumentalisation by taking it to an extreme.
