This Is It, But Without Us

I place something in the space – some words, a movement, an emotion, a proposal. I show you something, I fill the space with something. I take one of numerous possibilities, pull something out of the wall, out of the floor. My body answers. What do I find? You read my story – you put it into words. What happens in the moment of reading? Maybe an answer comes up. Maybe you produce a new story. Something new arises. What is important? What do we choose? Do we have a common history? Or is every community just a construction of individual stories?

In the production “this is it, but without us”, Antje Velsinger and Frankfurt-based performer Kristina Veit question different moments of togetherness. Which relation exists between space, memory and body? Based on the notion that everyone finds her own traces inside the space, togetherness is a strange thing right from the start.
