Julia Krause
Julia Krause studied – after several years as an assistant director at the Düsseldorf and Hamburg theatres – Applied Theatre Studies in Giessen, Fine Arts at Dartington College of Arts (UK) and Media Art at the Leipzig Academy of Visual Arts.
In 2011 she received her diploma there with distinction.
Since then she has been working as an artist in the field of performative and visual arts. She produces music and acoustic set-ups for theatre and dance performances and works on site-specific audio walks and installations. She also creates films, lecture performances and video installations, always with a special focus in and on acoustic-musical issues.
She works in various constellations and collaborations, including: with the director Jens Heitjohann on stage and installation projects and as a sound designer for Antje Velsinger / New Troubles. She teaches at the HfMDK Frankfurt and the Danish National School of Performing Arts. Julia Krause lives in Dortmund.
