Heike Bröckerhoff

Heike Bröckerhoff works as a dance dramaturge and performance artist in Germany and France. She studied media and cultural studies in Düsseldorf, philosophy in Nantes and the Master Performance Studies in Hamburg. She likes dance as an exploratory activity that deals with bodies in the context of socio-political issues. Therefore, she continuously enjoys collaborating with artists interested in non-human living beings, choreographic processes and sensitive practices in the use of resources. After a decade with Hamburg as her base and many freelance projects at Kampnagel and K3, she moved to Hannover. Here she most recently initiated the performance series Sargasso Sea on artistic recycling processes inspired by an algae. In addition to her artistic work, she develops formats that promote exchange between artists and audiences. She co-hosts the radio show PLATEAU with Juliana Oliveira at the FSK and is currently working on a series of audio features about actors in Lower Saxony’s independent dance scene.
