OUR FUTURE

Part #3 of the choreographic series FUTURE RELATIONS

OUR FUTURE asks the question: What do we need to practice together in order to prepare for the future in the face of multiple crises? How can we give each other courage when we feel powerless?

Based on a joint research process with young people, the artistic team of new trouble asks: “What does it take to raise your voice in our society despite unequal starting conditions and the power imbalance between generations?”

In OUR FUTURE, dancer Laura Schönlau invites the audience into a speculative training space. Amidst a fragile structure, she practices attack and defense, exploring what it means to stand up for something. Accompanied by the voices and perspectives of the young participants, a polyphonic solo unfolds – between movement and sound, speculation and hope, outlook and foresight.
